some characters require much more than a shorter story
but this man never is one to seek out fame or glory
simple in his needs, he has one great thirst for glee
that is hiding snack cakes from my cousins and me
taller than most and gentler than all
throughout his life always answering the call
soldier, mail carrier, and pressman have been some of his titles
a husband, a father, a carpenter, and always a disciple
this and much much more that makes us stand in awe
for him to be so many things, and still just be my Papaw.....
